Chancellor Barzani and UK Ambassador discuss recent political and military developments

Chancellor Masrour Barzani received today UK’s outgoing Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Frank Baker, to discuss recent developments between Kurdistan Region and Baghdad.

During the meeting, both officials called for a return to dialogue to settle differences. Chancellor Barzani cited Iraq’s use of the military throughout the last century to settle political disputes with the Kurdish people.

He added Iraq must implement the Constitution as a package, not selectively apply articles. Chancellor Barzani said political dialogue between Erbil and Baghdad is necessary to end increasing military tensions.
