Special Operation kills senior ISIL member in Hawija
ISIS TERRORIST MALA SHWAN KILLED DURING AN OPERATION AT APPROXIMATELY 1730HRS ON 28 JULY 2015 IN HAWIJA DISTRICT IN SOUTH KIRKUK
At approximately 1730hrs on 28 July 2015, Special Operations Forces operating under the command and guidance of the Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC) killed a senior Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) member known as Mala Shwan.
The operation, supported by International Coalition surveillance drones, was conducted in Hawija District in South Kirkuk and resulted in killing Mala Shwan and at least four other ISIS terrorists.
Mala Shwan had a prominent role overseeing ISIS propaganda operations and was involved in military attacks against Peshmerga positions, including in South Kirkuk. This operation was conducted based on sufficient intelligence collected, analysed and evaluated by the Kurdistan Region Security Council.
